Late bloomer

A belated Easter post? So unlike me. I usually am all over that chocolate coated holiday of dreams with my floral ensembles. But this Easter was different, and my weekend escaped into a blur of things that didn't go to plan. I won't go into it, but needless to say, getting a blog post up hasn't been priority one these past few weeks.

Autumn is starting to creep into Sydney finally, after all, it's now May, and I admit I'm not thrilled. I have some great winter clothing, but as I work mostly from home or in private residences, my excess of silk velvet and fur tipped jackets is overkill (though will be greatly appreciated in a few weeks for MBFWA). This dress was lucky to get an outing really!

I teamed it with a hair scarf and gloves for a traditional look you guys know I can never resist, but like to deviate from. My taste in clothes is so all over the place in the best kind of way - I feel so free these days to wear whatever I like when I take the fancy, after all, clothes are just fabric that express an attitude. And who knows, tomorrow I may wear a sequin mini skirt if it takes my fancy!

Happy Easter

 Happy Easter everyone! I hope you're currently biting the ears off a chocolate bunny and sipping hot tea. I've already had a hot cross bun and am taking today to have a rest after a busy weekend already (and let my muscles recover from a tough Barre class yesterday).

I took these pictures on Friday just before it started raining of course, so they feel a bit dreary which is a shame as I had a good Friday indeed though it doesn't look it.

I love this dress, but it always amazes me how much other people love it - non-vintage wearers especially pay a lot of attention to this dress! My theory is that it's the bows; they're fun aren't they? It's a very easy dress to throw on when I want to be comfortable yet look polished, and nothing says Easter in my books like tulip print. I teamed the dress with my Dorothy Bauer chick brooch, isn't it the sweetest?

A good friday

Woah, can you believe Good Friday has rolled around again? This is my favourite long weekend - the weather is nice for being outdoors without melting, you get to eat chocolate with wanton abandon, and floral prints seem a prerequisite. Thankfully this year I also won't be visiting hospital, or at least, knock on wood I won't. 

But you know what I absolutely hate? When you shoot an outfit for your blog and it's only in editing you realise that your collar was all skewiff. I'm sorry!

R & R

Belated Happy Easter everyone. Easter didn't quite pan out as hoped unfortunately - nothing like spending Easter night in hospital. It really makes you appreciate how wonderful your own bed is, but also how caring and patient the nurses and doctors are. I cannot speak highly enough of them. 

Today is just being spent sleeping, resting, and drinking tea in the afternoon sunshine. Nothing like it. I kept the sun out of my eyes with my beloved Prabal Gurung x Linda Farrow PB1 sunnies. I just adore them! As for my tea, I took it in a special tea cup today. It was given to me by my first boyfriend's godmother Chris. I haven't seen her in years, but I always think of her when I use this cup. It's just beautiful.

Good Friday

I can't believe it's Good Friday. Wasn't it just Christmas? Oh how time flies. I always somehow end up in florals and pink this time of year, even though technically it's autumn. I'm totally ok with this. I mean, this 50s skirt has hats with freakin' tassels and gold studs. I died momentarily when I saw it. It was mine in that skipped heart beat moment. 

I hope today you are taking the time to rest, eat something delicious and enjoy the weather. I've been cooking up some delicious spaghetti, making Easter treats, and indulging in a little Poirot watching.

Happy Easter Weekend kiddlets. I had a beautiful Good Friday with friends, food and too many episodes of Supernatural in a row. I pranced around in this cute 50s dress all day. I love the rose print all over it so much, especially with my rose applique cardi and pearls.

Happy Easter readers! Hope the bunny pooped lots of eggs onto your lawn. My sweet tooth is a happy one today. I have more chocolate than I know what to do with, so I'm just smiling at it all in a big pile.

Good Friday

Happy Good Friday, readers!

I'm spending the day with my family, even my grandmother. We're having a sit down dinner together (a rare occurrence these days!). I'm looking forward to roast potatoes and a nice G & T.

I love this pinafore from Anthropologie, its very vintage-esque. I know it'll be great with everything from blouses to knits to shirts, especially as the weather gets cooler. And I pulled out my Sweet Bestiary Rabbit brooch once more. She's such a sweetie. Perfect time of the year for her.

Happy Easter!

Nothing seems to change, I still love pink and I still love easter eggs. I think the photo of me as a kid was taken around Easter, 1992. The other photo was taken on Thursday at work where I was enjoying the bottom of a meringue rabbit.

I hope you are having a joyous Easter. I certainly am! My basket of goodies is overflowing, much like my waistline will be tomorrow! Happy Easter lovely readers, I hope the bunny was generous.
