Safari Chic for the wild theatre

Dress: Ebay (yes, this is the dress my bestie wore to the noir night)
Heels: Senso Diffusion
Bag: Bowerbird Vintage
Tiger charm bracelet and matching earrings: a gift store while on holidays
Stockings: Leona Edmiston

(Excuse my lack of head - I was rushing to get out the door and didn't bother to fix said issue)

I use the word ‘chic’ a lot at work. It’s quite the buzz word.

It seems whenever my boyfriend and I go on our monthly dates I somehow seem to channel the ‘safari’ inspiration. Last time it was a safari-style wrap dress; this time I wore safari-style accessories. Not that anyone wears jangly tiger bling and heels on a safari, but you get what I mean. And lesson learned the hard way, girls should also not wear beautiful soft leather heels on city streets with gaps wide enough to swallow the heel and damage said soft leather. *sigh* It was really quite disappointing because it was their first proper wear out and they’re gorgeous.

My boyfriend and I always go out for a fancy date as we’re both time-poor people and we know that you need to make an effort in these time-poor times (and not have your little brother tagging along). This time we didn’t go fancy-dancy for our meal as it’s a big anniversary next month, but we did still decide to go out somewhere fun all the same.

We went to see Avenue Q at King St Theatre, which was quite funny. It was kind of risqué and ridiculous and made me laugh the whole way through. And it had ‘purpose’! And we settled for some quick, cheap and absolutely delicious (well, apart from the overload of oil this time) Japanese at Sakura. I get cravings for their teriyaki tofu don. And miso soup. Yum.

Signing out, until next time!

P.S. Is it a sign that your mum is cool when you can put Bloc Party on her MP3?

P.P.S. If you’re looking for a very sweet summer vintage reproduction dress, (as I am) then I think I’ve found a potential. Lazy Bones’ new summer range will be out soon, and all the dresses are fantastic, but I am in love with the Marilyn dress and the Jane Dress. I love the photo shoots were done with vintage hats. Whee.

P.P.P.S. One last point – BLUE SHOES! (You’ll see very soon).

A very cute looking dress and it suits you to a T! The King Street theater!! I've not been! What's it like? It's in Netown, is that correct? I used to walk past it every weekend when me and my boyfriend had a thing for Doytoi Thai food - very delicious by the way!!

To Pipalachic: I see you're from the Hunter! I haven't been there in ages, but I really miss the area.

Sam: Thanks :) It's the Theatre Royale on King Street in the city - right near Pitt Street Mall. it's a nice place, as long as you're not sitting behind someone tall.

I don't actually know Newtown that well - but I really love Thai, so I might check it out.
